Server Security

How does ServInt handle the secure /tmp directory?

By default, our VPS servers have the /tmp directory mounted securely. This means that the directory is mounted with the noexec flag, preventing scripts from being run directly from this directory. Disabling the secure temp partition may provide potential attackers an easier environment from which to work. As such, we do not recommend this workaround be enabled casually.

If you do need this function disabled (such as to run a ‘pecl install phpmodule’) you can submit a ticket in your customer portal and we can disable the secure mount for you.
