There are several different way of logging into WHM.
- If you have only recently purchased your domain name and the DNS has not yet propagated, you can access the WHM interface in your browser with the following URL: https://YourIPAddress:2087 (where “YourIPAddress” is written in the XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX format).
- If your domain name has propagated, you can access WHM with the following URLs: http://www.YourDomainName.com/whm or http://whm.YourDomainName.com.
Once connected, you may receive a notice saying, “This Connection is Untrusted” or something similar. This is normal and nothing to worry about. In order to ensure security, WHM is issued an SSL certificate that your browser is unfamiliar with. Your browser should give you the option to “Add an Exception” or “Bypass the Error” for this particular URL. In short, you are simply telling your browser that you are familiar with the URL and that it does not pose a security risk.
Once you have added the exception, you will be prompted to enter a username and password. For WHM, your username will always be “root” (without the quotations marks), and your password is the one you chose when your purchased the VPS. This is the most important password in terms of accessing your VPS, and we recommend you keep the password cryptic and change it often.
After you have correctly entered your credentials, you will be taken to WHM’s main menu.
