Control Panel (cPanel/WHM)

If cPanel-supported software fails, how is it fixed?

We monitor your server and as well as services on the host machine, too. When we see something fail, we proactively login and fix it.

By default we monitor the server (ICMP) and the Apache web server (HTTP) and you may request monitoring of additional services such as HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, POP, NNTP, and DNS. We occasionally consult with cPanel/WHM technicians for assistance, when necessary.

In addition to our monitoring system, cPanel has its own configurable monitoring system that runs a check against your supported software every 5 minutes to see if the services are running properly. If any of the monitored services should fail cPanel will automatically attempt a restart of the service in order to bring it back up. It will also email the root user of the server to notify them of the issue. Should the service fail to come back up via the restart, cPanel will continue this process every 5 minutes until it is back online. The list of monitored services can be found and edited in WHM.

  1. Log into WHM.
  2. Navigate to Service Manager under Service Configuration.

Any services that are both enabled and monitored will benefit from the chservd service.
